Money’s worth, does everything it’s supposed to.

Extraordinary battery life – so far the best in it’s category. Crisp, clear display, fast bootup and shutdown, almost full-size KDB, great touch-pad, modest webcam, generous storage and wonderful connectivity through wireless N and BlueTooth. The only upgrade needed is 2GB memory. Note: This netbook has only one memory slot, so buy a 2GB DDR2 SO-DIMM PC5400 200 PIN memory and replace the factory 1GB with this 2GB. And do yourself a favor – install anti-virus software and take daily backups.

Excellent product!!!!!! The battery life is astonishing as I actually had it operating and unplugged for approx 11 hours without so much as a squawk. Real light weight and portable. Have had no issues what so ever. We love it.
Excellent second computer

I have owned the Blue version of this computer for three months and am very happy with it. It is very compact, very light and very portable and I use it around the house as well as for travel. It feels very well built. I cannot testify to a 10 hour battery, but I suspect the actual usage is close. The recharge time is very fast. I would not use it for regular writing, however, since I find the keyboard and screen a little small for prolonged use. As a second computer, however, it is great! I explored most of its competitors and found nothing I liked as well.
Only annoying downsides:
It is programed to open with Windows Live, whether you want it or not. I still have not found a way to turn it off. Very annoying.
I use the Google browser, but may change to Windows Explorer and Outlook. Google’s ads take too much room on the small screen. (The screen, however, is very bright in all conditions and esy to read.)

Mine arrived with no problems. Yes the case shows fingerprints, but it still looks fine.
Buying tips: Amazon’s service was great. I did not buy the extra memory and so far have not missed it. It comes with its own case, but it is light and has no pockets. I bought another as an accessory and prefer it. I have found that I need an external drive to install older programs or those that cannot be downloaded from the web. For 50 dollars I have just ordered one.
Great Netbook

This is my second EEE from Asus, I am giving my first to my grandson for his birthday in March, he used the netbook while visiting in January and played with his cousin who got a Netbook for Xmas, he did not know I was testing to see if he would like one, well he loved it and will be so surprised. I liked the fact that this netbook has bluetooth. I use my Lubix bluetooth headset with it.

I bought this for my wife to check her e-mails for her business when she is downstairs away from her desktop. For that purpose the netbook is ideal. Very light with long battery life. Really easy to get up and running.
The negative is the headphone jack doesn’t work. It did work once but never again. We sent back the first Asus we ordered from Amazon because we couldn’t get it to work even once. Asus feels its a hardware problem and wants us to send it to them for repair but my wife could care less about the headphone jack so we kept the second one.
I’d recommend this as a travel or secondary computer if you don’t want to use the headphone jack and therefore give it 4 stars.

For it’s size, it is fantastic. It is very portable, the keyboard is easy to use and the battery life is great. It won’t take the place of a regular laptop but for email and web access it is great. Some apps are slow….Facebook for example.

I read many reviews before purchasing this netbook. Do you homework, make sure the people who wrote the review are talking about this netbook, as I have nothing negative to say about it. Its perfect. No problems with AC adaptor, battery life, crashes, etc. I waited for 3 months to review this as I wanted to make sure we had it long enough to uncover any possible problems.
I purchased 2 of these identical netbooks for my 2 oldest boys for xmas(their 1st computers). They both have the 1.66 processor, 1 gig ram, 250 gig harddrive, 11.5 hr battery. The boys mainly watch movies on them while on road trips or vacation. They also use them for internet video games. My wife and I use them while on vacation to check emails and work on presentations. We can watch multiple movies on long flights without the need to recharge. The processor speed is more than adequate for what we do. The only complaint, which is extremely minor, is low speaker volume. Especially when you split into two headphones sets. Just not enough juice for 2 people to adequately hear a movie on a plane via splitting the output to 2 sets of headphones. But seriously, that is a non issue in the grand scheme of things. They are great netbooks and I would recommend them to everyone.
Oh yeah, I bought them on Amazon for 349.
Can possibly replace your desktop and laptop.

This is a great little machine(I am using it to write this review). It can replace your other personal computers if you don’t plan to use this for gaming, other than that it does everything else with excellence. You cant tell the difference in performance only if you have too many programs opened in which case I would recommend that you upgrade the ram to 2gb for faster performance. If you need a netbook look nowhere else, youll get more than you paid for with this one. Also, it comes with a case which is not mentioned in the amazon product description! Its a soft case that is sleek for on the go purposes. Obviously if you want something that will protect your netbook more you should go with the targus case. Get this one, it is great.

This was a gift for my sister. She really enjoys the user experience. The ASUS optical drive works perfectly; no power issues. I definitely recommend this little baby.

I use this netbook for music files and hooking up to my home computer to keep an eye on my puppies when I am gone overnite. It’s small and easy to transport. Perfect for what I need.
