Power supply jack problem
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I bought this computer for my wife. It came with Windows 7 Starter. I installed Microsoft Office and have been very pleased with the performance of the machine with 1 GB of memory. It is basically a machines for web surfing and some light duty software. It is very portable and convenient. I installed Skype and was able to get everything working in less than 1/2 hour. There is one minor irritation with the power supply jack. It will lose contact if you move the computer just very slightly. I am going to call HP and find out whether this is a defect on my machine.
Broken after 6 months, unhelpful customer service charging me to ship it to them for repair
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I received the hp mini 110-1022 as a gift for Christmas, it had been initially purchased in July. In January, the keyboard quit working and after 1.5 hours on the phone with a service technician it was determined to need a system recovery. So they mailed me the disk (after trying to force the external drive down my throat). I bought the external CD drive at a third location, attempted to use the disk to recover the software, only to find it didn’t work, the “hardware” needs repair, and they would be glad to send me a box for shipping back for the low cost of about $20. For a BRAND NEW NETBOOK that was rendered UNSUABLE by a faulty keyboard. According th hp tech support, it really isn’t a shipping fee, it’s “insurance and priority to get it repaired”. The fact that it is under warranty (and did I mention BROKEN?!?) should be enough to warrant me receiving these services. This computer is BRAND NEW, and DOESN’T WORK. Why should I pay MORE to have the BROKEN computer fixed? So my options are to suck it up, give hp MORE of my hard earned money, or to use it as a cute little doorstop? Seriously? Can they refund me the money I spent on the external drive that I wasn’t going to buy except that I needed it to “fix” the computer? Can they refund me the monry I spent upgrading the crappy factory battery? Needless to say that this is not the computer I would have bought for myself, for many reasons: price, battery life highest among them. Now I can add the “shipping, er priority repair/insurance” charges. Thanks for nothing hp.
Great Netbook!!

I love my new netbook!! I would highly recommend buying the 8 hour battery pack for it though… I HAVE IT AND COULDN’T IMAGINE THE 3 HOUR! I never want to get off of this little computer because it’s so small and I can make myself comfortable when I’m using it.
Really helpful!

I bought this computer for my girlfriend, and she really likes it! It is easy to carry, has enough space to save your documents, you can access the internet, check your email, do your homework, etc,
The only thing I hate is that it comes with the “starter” version of Windows 7, which is really a pain in the…
Other than that I would really recomend this netbook! Thank you Amazon!
Cute, quick, and cool!

Good battery life, good processor. The computer is fast and easy to use. Comfortable and well designed keyboard. The only problem is that the microphone and earphones have a combined entrance.
Great Laptop

This is a great laptop. I take it with me everywhere. I purchased the extra life battery and this really makes a big difference. I highly recommend this product.
nifty little mini

I purchased this for my husband, and he loves it! I also purchased a cordless mouse, and this little computer is just the ticket for doing things online while watching tv, and at a fraction of the cost of a laptop.
HP mini netbook

So easy to use. It is perfect for anyone traveling. Lightweight and fits in even a medium size purse. I’m new at Windows 7 so I will need more time to get used to it. I also like that it has an “airplane mode.” The media slot will accomodate most camera cards. I bought a 8gb flash drive so I can transfer photos and music between my other computers. (I haven’t learned to network between computers yet) It’s just perfect for this traveling grandma. I also think it is perfect for a first time computer for a child.
HP Mini 110-1125NR

This computer has been nothing but trouble (i.e.,unexplained stops, 1 to 2 min to exit a program, etc.)
I had to pay Microsoft to define the issues because they won’t take responsibility fot the operating system. Microsoft couldn’t find or fix the problems. Microsoft’s last suggestion was restore the operating system which wipes out all my files and programs (i.e., Microsoft office, Quickbooks pro)
HP tried to find the problems and couldn’t. HP finally agreed with Microsoft suggestion. HP helped me restore the operating system.
The entire proicess to date has taken 3 weeks in part because the HP program for moving programs from the old to new computer doesn’t work. I still don’t know if the problems are resolved.
Had I not been a computer programmer in a former life I wouldn’t have been able to work on the problems. The HP Mini is my third HP computer.
I will never purchase another HP computer.
Great little machine

This is a great little netbook with great battery life.
Pro: Very portable and great display
Con: The on switch is in a poor location and is fundamentally slow to turn on at times.
In general, this is a great machine under $350.
